The proposal for the ROSE Bikes headquarters extension in Bocholt is conceived as a seamless continuation of the brand’s flagship campus, where architecture, landscape, and movement converge into a unified spatial concept. Positioned along the Bocholter Aa, the building does not sit beside the river but grows out of its landscape, emerging as a gently rising green topography. The planted roofscape begins at the water’s edge, gradually inclines to form an accessible public promenade, and ultimately merges with the upper levels of the building, dissolving the conventional boundary between ground and architecture. This continuous surface transforms circulation into experience, inviting employees and visitors to move across, through, and above the structure while remaining constantly connected to the surrounding natural context.

Beneath this inhabitable landscape, flexible office environments, collaborative workspaces, workshops, and shared amenities are arranged around generous courtyards that draw daylight deep into the building. Transparent façades and visual connections between interior and exterior reinforce openness, interaction, and a culture of exchange. The spatial organisation supports adaptability and innovation, reflecting the dynamic character of the brand while maintaining clarity and orientation throughout the complex.

The sculpted concrete structure provides a robust and expressive architectural framework, contrasted by warm interior glazing and carefully selected material accents that create a balanced, welcoming atmosphere. The extensive green roof not only defines the building’s identity but also contributes to biodiversity, improves the microclimate, and supports sustainable water management strategies. As an extension, the project does not compete with the existing flagship; instead, it complements and strengthens it. By translating ROSE Bikes’ core values — innovation, performance, and closeness to nature — into a distinctive landscape-driven workplace, the design establishes a forward-looking campus that is both functional and emblematic of the brand’s vision.
